Ashar 15
On Ashar 15
Celebration: Class 9
Students Experience Rice Plantation and Traditional Food
On the occasion of Ashar 15 (National Rice Plantation Day), held on Sunday, our school organised a cultural and educational activity to help students connect with Nepal’s agricultural roots.
Class 9 students were taken to a nearby muddy field where they experienced rice plantation firsthand. With feet in the mud, hands carrying paddy, and plenty of laughter, the students planted rice across the field.
The school arranged water taps nearby to help everyone clean up afterward. After the plantation activity, students were served a traditional meal of curd and beaten rice, along with bananas and a sweet treat. Even the little students from UKG were included in the celebration and were served the same food.
As the activity left the students tired and muddy, the school allowed Class 9 students to leave after half-time—a thoughtful gesture that everyone appreciated.
Overall, the day was full of learning, laughter, and tradition. It gave us a small but meaningful experience of the hard work our farmers do and helped us develop a deeper respect for the culture we come from.
